The Green Side…

You would have to be living under a rock to not notice the latest juice craze and the addition of vegetables to the all popular “smoothie”. I have to admit as much as I love vegetables I haven’t been too keen on the idea of adding kale to my fruit blends. Recently, however, I have been won over to the green side. My husband purchased a state of the art blender that makes just about everything you can think of. It’s pretty amazing, it even makes perfect shaved ice for snow cones if you so desire. It came with a book with pages and pages of yummy recipes and I was inspired to try a green smoothie. The recipe was very simple, a little water, a banana, a cup of frozen blueberries and 2 cups of spinach. I was not only pleasantly surprised but actually really enjoyed this leafy green drink. I also was pretty proud of myself for having a serving of vegetables before 10 am, good job! If you haven’t tried the “new” green smoothie I urge you to give it a go. You will probably be pleasantly surprised as I was and on your way to a healthier you
