Was this good! After offering my mother in law to help with a summer party, I found this tropical paella recipe and gave it a test run – it was delish! Full of summer fruit, shrimp and sausage it was hearty and very flavorful. I love trying new recipes (new to me) because I usually learn something. This recipe calls for infusing olive oil with saffron which I now know has a fascinating history and is the most expensive spice in the world. It sells for $10-$20 a jar at my local markets. Fortunately, you only need a pinch or two to cook with so the jar should last a long while. This dish calls for a lot of prep work but it is worth it and I’m so excited I discovered a new summer meal, my husband went back for thirds!

Sounds like something I would like but I doubt that I would find saffron in Grove, Oklahoma, home of everything fried. Nice looking blog.
Best Paella I’ve ever eaten was in La Isla Margarita, Venezuela. Then after finishing, I looked up on the wall by the beautiful, beachfront serving station (it was an out door wedding), and there had to have been 50 huge South American-Style cockroaches. Sadly, no seconds for me.
That was unfortunate! I can promise this great recipe comes with NO icky bugs!
